“I create to tell of my experiences–they are visual narratives. I want my audience to tell themselves stories when they stand before the work. I think of my work as connecting the viewer’s world and mine.”
Aridoux is an artist based in Georgia, who works in a multidisciplinary and surrealist style. He combines surrealism, abstract art, and realism to create a unique and intriguing visual language. Aridoux is particularly drawn to surrealism, as it creates a sense of mystery and curiosity in the viewer. He believes it gives their imagination something to grapple with. And I find the viewers if interested enough, will tell themselves to try to make sense of the visual.

In his work, Aridoux explores human existence, our experiences, our stories, our interactions, and our emotions. He uses a range of materials in his practice, including oil and acrylic paints, oil sticks, pastels, graphite, charcoal, and colored pencils. As a trained graphic designer, Aridoux also incorporates digital elements into his paintings. For example, he sometimes uses icons as symbols or timestamps to connect the digital and physical realms. Overall, Aridoux’s art invites the viewer to engage with the world in a new and thought-provoking way.
